Develop digital skills, build confidence, get the job.

Are you unemployed, currently receiving a benefit from Centrelink  and looking for work?

Led by highly expeirenced and knowledgeble trainers, the workshop will help you to develop skills needed for job seeking and be job ready in the digital age.

During the course you will develop skills to: search for jobs online, develop a resume,  tailor a cover letter to a job, prepare for online interviews,  feel confident during interviews and answer the interview questions!

Learning will be based on real positions in the labour market, small group discussions & activities, Q&A sessions with the trainer and mock interviews.

This is a non-accredited course and there are no formal assessments to complete. Students will be issued with a Certificate of Participation upon successful completion of the workshop outcomes.


Course Content

Introduction to Video Conferencing

Research and use different video conference tools

Participate in video conference meetings

Searching for Jobs online

Become familiar with the different job boards in Australia

Learn search tips to find relevant jobs in your career area and skill set

Resume and Cover Letter Writing Skills

Learn how to write a resume or use resume templates to clearly identify skills and experience

Learn how to tailor a cover letter for a specific job application.

Communication Skills

Learn about verbal and non-cerbal communications skills and using these in the digital world of work

Learn how to use your communication skills to express your confidence

Introduction to Online Interviews

Learn about different type of interviews

Understand the different types of interview questions and how to respond to each type

Review and practice interview questions

Participate in a mock interview


Intended Audience

Suitable for students at Charter Australia wanting to learn skills in using digital technology and gain confidence to succeed for job seeking.


Eligibility Criteria

You MAY be eligible for this course if you answer yes to the questions below:

  • I am currently unemployed and receiving a benefit from Centrelink?
  • I have limited employability skills and need support?
  • I have persistent and ongoing personal issues impacting my educational achievement?

You must have a Google Account to participate in this course

Course Dates: Every Tuesday from 29 Sept 2020 to 24 Nov 20020

Class Hours: 3:00pm - 5:00pm - every Tuesday
