Entry requirements for First Aid Certificates
- must be 18 years or older
- have the physical ability to provide resuscitation by kneeling on the floor and performing two (2) minutes of uninterrupted CPR.
- have valid USI
- provide photo ID
This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. Charter Care recommends, in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, that CPR skills are renewed at least every 12 months.
Please note It is a requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.
Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for: HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
The training and assessment activities that comprise this course are a blend of self-paced learning/online assessment (about 8 hours) and classroom-based training/assessment (4 hours).
Students will be assessed through an online quiz, demonstration of practical skills, participation of role plays and analysis of case studies.
Note: It is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the adult manikin on the floor.
