The course is designed for people who want to gain employment in the aged, disability and community services sectors and work as a personal carer. Studying this course creates a pathway for graduates to continue into CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support qualification study.
The course contains three Nationally Recognised Units of Competency.
- CHCCCS015 – Provide individualised support
- HLTINF001 – Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures
- HLTWHS002 – Follow safe work practices for direct client care
Graduates from the course will be qualified to work as a Home and community care worker.
Pathways to Further Studies
A Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for CHCSS00114 Entry into Care Roles Skill Set will be issued following successful completion of this course and can be used to seek credit transfer towards achieving an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualification including CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support.
Course Entrance Requirements
Language Literacy and Numeracy requirements
Students are required to take LLN test on before being offered enrolment.
When a student failed to achieve the required LLN result, support options are available.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or above
Student are required to use computer to access study materials, do research, prepare assessments, make notes and communicate with trainers, support staff and/or other students. Student are also required to bring a laptop or tablet computer while attending classes.
Course Duration & Delivery
Blended learning mode combining self-paced online learning and face-to-face practical sessions.
Enrolment period: 60 days
Practical sessions will be delivered at Charter Australia’s North Sydney campus at: Level 3, 53 Walker Street, North Sydney, NSW 2060 Australia.
Students can commence the online learning component at anytime. After having completed the online learning component, practical sessions will be confirmed.
