Ming Chen

CEO & Director

Ming has sound knowledge and experience in all aspects of business operations has seen her made great contribution into Charter’s success. Since Charter’s inception, Ming’s ability to identify business opportunities has allowed her business to thrive; she has successfully bid for, and won, a variety of contracts and government tenders for the provision of training courses. She has also established strong business partnerships with other training organisations, developed project management courses and delivered training, resulting in project management qualifications, to over 300 individuals.

The training programme implemented by Ming through Charter Australia is of the highest quality. Indeed, Charter Australia is recognised as an Endorsed Training Organisation by the Australian Institute of Project Management, of which Ming is also an accredited member.

Ming is a Certified Practising Accountant and holds a Master’s Degree in Economics. She has a thorough understanding of corporate finance and has acted as the Finance Manager for organisations in training, employment and education industries.


Mark Dowd

Director

Mark Dowd has a diverse background of work in the mining, IT and consulting industries, much of it at a senior management level.

He has solid experience across a broad range of industries including insurance, transport, FMCG, retail banking and mining and with particular strengths in manufacturing, retail and accounting. He has worked at several companies – including Unilever, Transgrid (Mincom), Kellogg’s and Woolworths – who are the leading businesses in their markets. with and a Master of Business Administration (Executive) from the Australian Graduate School of Management.


Bernard Miles

Director of Studies – English Language

Bernard Miles brings to students a wealth of experience in teaching the English language. Throughout his impressive career, has delivered English language teaching both in China and in Australia, to a diverse range of students. Bernard prides himself on his consistently innovative approach to teaching, of which he has built a very positive reputation for himself. Bernard has spent most of his career in the Skills for Employment and Education Program. He achieved remarkable success over a number of years teaching English language, numeracy, literacy, and computer skills. Since becoming a curriculum development officer for the program, Bernard has designed learning resources, assessment tasks, and teacher-training programs. On a number of occasions, Bernard’s assessment task designs have been presented at nation-wide workshops as models of good practice.

Throughout his career, Bernard has been committed to his own academic development, which has allowed him to progress in his career as a teacher. Bernard graduated with a Bachelor of International Studies in Languages at UNSW, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at UTS.


Madeleine Pathe

Lead Trainer and Assessor – Project Management

Madeleine Pathe’s glowing reputation as an insightful, engaging, and highly knowledgeable Project Management Trainer is a result of her immensely successful and expansive career in both professional training and project management. Prior to her training career, Madelaine was a Senior Project Manager for a variety of large corporate organisations, including Commonwealth Bank, Siemens, and Westpac. As a distinguished project manager in her own right, Madeleine has also taken on a number of Project Management consultancy positions for other firms.

Madeleine has provided a wide range of project management training to students from a variety of industries, such as mining, engineering and IT, as well as those from community-based and not-for-profit backgrounds. Madeleine is well-known for her insightful training delivery, which stems from the depth and extensiveness of her project management expertise.  Madeleine has an Advanced Diploma of Project Management, as well as a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. She is a Certified Practicing Project Director (CPPD) with the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), an AIPM Assessor, and a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Madeleine has been working with Charter as the lead trainer and assessor in project management since its establishment in 2005.
